Step 1 of "The Landing" a small 5 x 7 painting on canvas. :

A painting of my grandfather, Sonny (Wilfred) Hansen, the head Geological Engineer of the Timmins Hollinger Mine.

Exploration has always been a hands on job in the bush.  This painting shows Sonny unloading gear from the canoe to set up camp.

You can see it is being painted from his personal photos in black and white.  I estimate the year about 1950.
